In 5G massive MIMO base stations, test instrumentation, or radar systems, the receiver front-end often faces threats from strong interferers or high-power pulses, which can saturate or even damage the Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). The SKY16603-632LF is a passive receiver protector designed to address this challenge. This high-linearity limiter module from Skyworks integrates dual PIN limiter diodes and DC blocking capacitors in a compact 2.3x2.3mm DFN package, covering an operating frequency range of 0.6 to 6 GHz. Featuring a low limiting threshold (+8 dBm typical), low insertion loss, and excellent IIP3 (29 dBm typical), it effectively suppresses high-power signals without compromising receiver sensitivity. The device can handle up to 3.1W of CW input power (TCASE = 120°C) and operates from -40°C to +105°C, making it ideal for macro base stations, small cells, satellite communications, and military radar.
